By the dozen – They have started their career with an apprenticeship at the REFORM plant in Wels
On 1 September 2007, twelve young men started their apprenticeship with the REFORM works in Wels with enthusiasm – nine of them as mechanical engineers and three as machining engineers.
The young men, coming from the districts of Wels, Wels Land, Grießkirchen, Linz Land and Urfahr Umgebung, prevailed among 126 applicants and secured themselves a place among the 12 best and so an apprenticeship in the REFORM works Wels, the industry specialists for hill farming mechanisation, sowing technology and municipal technology.
To give their parents and families the opportunity to see the state-of-the-art manufacturing and training centre of their future employer as well, the REFORM works introduced a parents’ day.
The new apprentices and their families were invited on the occasion of their career start to a company presentation with a tour of the company and a cosy get-together with snacks afterwards.
We learn for life, as the saying goes. However, the REFORM works takes care of the welfare of their new apprentices in other ways, too. They get special rewards for diligence and hard work at REFORM. Those who achieve excellent results in vocational school get an award to the amount 80 Euros for an average grade of 1 to 1.5 and/or still 60 Euros for an average grade of 1.5 to 2.
For a final apprenticeship examination passed with distinction, they can even expect a one week special leave paid by the Works Council! and 150 Euros
In that way, the Austrian market leader in the fields of hill farming technology, sowing machinery construction und municipal technology lays the foundations for success in the future career of these young men.
Currently, REFORM trains 43 apprentices, and has invested almost 1,000,000 Euros in its new apprenticeship training centre in the meantime. Here, the apprentices find a place of work with state-of-the-art machinery and a highly qualified team of trainers, which provide optimum general conditions for an excellent training.
In addition to the standard curriculum, the apprentices of REFORM also take part in expensive special trainings such as a six-day GEMBA training.
GEMBA is the teaching of the optimisation of work organisation, material flow and added value in production on site.
This training measure is a further step towards high-quality training and so another investment in a safe future for the apprentices.
Not only the company’s own employees are trained by the REFORM works in a wide variety of metal-processing professions, but outside companies and institutions such as the boiler manufacturer Hoval in Wels or the BFI trust in the very high standard of the REFORM apprenticeship training centre.
So the training opportunities offered by the REFORM works Wels are also of benefit to the entire economic region of Upper Austria.
